Ben Lampert MRICS MCIOB

Ben is a Director at Artform, a team of property developers and project managers in love with design.

Driven by the market’s growing request for homes that are innovative, individual and aesthetically-led, Artform are continuously fighting against repetitive schemes, serving the new age of design-led home buyers in London. Hoxton-based Artform has set a benchmark for building aspirational homes with local manufacturers and makers.

Ben oversees the delivery of Artform’s developments, making sure they’re built on time, on budget and to optimum standards

From working as a carpentry apprentice during his early years on site, Ben has extensive knowledge and experience of the construction industry.  After moving to the commercial side of the industry, Ben graduated from University of Westminster with an honours degree in Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management.

He is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB).

Charles Bettes

Charles is Managing Director of GPAD, a studio of architects based in London and working on projects across the country. GPAD’s works spans from single infill houses to mixed-use masterplans and small-scale community interventions to large-scale office buildings.

Whatever the scale and typology the practice strives to create contemporary buildings and places where people enjoy living and working.

Interested in how good development can bring value to the users of buildings and the communities that they sit within and help shape, Charles has a focus on the people that occupy the spaces.

He has strong experience of retrofit and adaptative reuse and a focus on the climate crisis and how the built environment must respond.

Charles has worked in London for twenty years and designed and lived in Wittering House, which won Best London Home and the Grand Prix award in 2018. He has judged for the awards since.

Debbie Whitfield

Debbie is Director of Impact at Fabrix, a transformational real estate developer and operating partner, specialising in breathing life back into overlooked land and buildings, alongside capital partners who share a commitment to shaping a more sustainable and equitable world. She leads on the company’s contribution to enhancing urban environments and strengthening its position as one of London’s most progressive developers through deep engagement and partnership working. Prior to Fabrix, Debbie was Managing Director of New London Architecture, the pre-eminent centre for debate about London’s built environment. She is passionate about shaping better cities for all and is a Trustee of the Quality of Life Foundation and a Critical Friend to the arts charity UP Projects.

Andrew Whiting

HUT Founder Andrew has a particular interest in architectural education and practice. He teaches at Degree & Diploma level at the Bartlett School of Architecture UCL, and Westminster University, is a Part 3 Professional examiner, and architectural awards judge.

He is also a Director of Build the Way – a Community Interest Company supporting architecture traineeships with the aim of providing an alternative and accessible route into a career designing and making buildings, spaces, cities, and communities.
